SMExternalSD 1.0

Small utility created to facilitate the functionality of other applications by enabling installation on external storage.

This software tool emulates the BOOT_COMPLETED action through the transmission of the "sdexternalapps.EXTERNAL_APPLICATIONS_AVAILABLE_AFTER_BOOT" intent and triggers the "sdexternalapps.EXTERNAL_APPLICATIONS_AVAILABLE" intent upon receiving EXTERNAL_APPLICATIONS_AVAILABLE.

Why?

• Android OS inherently lacks the capability to send BOOT_COMPLETED or EXTERNAL_APPLICATIONS_AVAILABLE signals to applications housed on external SD cards.

How to relocate an application to External SD?

• To transfer an application to an external SD card, the application itself must allow this feature, though certain ROMS may permit forced relocation of all applications.
• If interested in transferring SManager, or any other desired app, to external SD, follow these steps:
  1. Go to Home
  2. Access Menu
  3. Navigate to Settings
  4. Select Applications
  5. Choose Manage Applications
  6. Locate SManager (or your preferred app) and choose it
  7. Opt for moving the app to the SD card

REMARKS:

• For users:
  The utilization of SMExternalSD necessitates prior preparation by the application. Mere installation does not grant the capability to relocate any application to an external SD card.
  Currently, only SManager integrates SMExternalSD.
• For developers:
  The primary aim is to enable the installation of SManager on External SD; however, feel at liberty to incorporate it into your application.
